Located in a smart paved precinct in the heart of historic Buckingham, a two storey stone-clad building has been beautifully converted into a stylish setting in celebration of seafood.
Based on the principles of good food, responsibly sourced and simply prepared, Halibut delivers the ultimate seafood experience by way of a Fishmonger, Traiteur and Seafood Restaurant
The Fishmonger
A cornucopia of high quality fresh fish and crustacea prepared to order in the traditional manner. As a 21st century fishmonger, quality, advice and service are not our only concerns; we are also conscious of where and how the fish we supply are caught, the sustainability of supplies, the efficient management of fish stocks and minimising the impact of fishing on the marine ecosystem.
The Traiteur
Everything served is hand-made by us on the premises using fresh, carefully sourced ingredients. Influenced by the food of the countries around the Mediterranean, we use local, seasonal and organic produce whenever possible or available. Signature dishes, such as the Tunisian octopus salad and wild rice salad feature alongside seasonal traditional dishes. All dishes are available to take away, so make the ideal lunch or family supper.
The Restaurant
Unwind at the bar with a glass of champagne and an assortment of oysters. The first floor at Halibut is home to a chic and intimate eatery where the freshest seafood and simple, skilful preparation let the flavours of the fish shine through. From traditional staples such as fish & chips using mouth-watering, sustainable and plentiful fish species to globally influenced specials utilising lesser known exotics such as Tilapia and Snapper, Halibut is doing its part to ensure the enjoyment of seafood today and in the future.
For large dinners and intimate events to be remembered, the restaurant at Halibut is also available for exclusive hire for groups of up to 40 people.
