FISH CHIPS & POLITICS. A HUGE SUCCESS.
Our political debate with spice and ‘flava’ got up close and personal with the MP for Buckingham candidates. Masterfully chaired by broadcaster and journalist Henry Bonsu, the evening was a lively and well attended night out for Buckingham constituents.
After the debate, we enjoyed smooth jazz, flowing champagne, our penultimate fish & chips and great wine. It was the ultimate dinner party and we thank everyone who came out or played a role in making the evening amazing!

CHANNEL 4's COME DINE WITH ME MILTON KEYNES
A film crew from Channel 4's COME DINE WITH ME visited our fishmonger as part of a show which first aired on Sunday 15th November 2009.
In Milton Keynes four cooks crossed forks for the £1,000 prize, and 70s-nut Mark Franke cooked lemon sole purchased from Halibut to earn a respectable 2nd place amoung the four contestants.
We were approached by Mark who wanted to use top quality fish to wow his guests. We're thrilled to be gaining wider recognition for what we offer and we were only too pleased to assist and advise another customer with a purchase that held so much weight.

We offer an extensive traiteur (takeaway) menu from 11am until 9pm. Offerings include our ultimate fish and chips, monkfish curry, whitebait, tempura battered squid and our ever popular seafood Jollof--the West African equivalent of paella--and many more. The Fishmonger
Competitively priced, high quality fresh fish and crustacea prepared to order. Our fish counter displays a wide variety of fish to suit all budgets; inexpensive mackerel, gurnard, plaice, carp and mussels to the most ostentatious and highly prized Turbot, Dover Sole and Red Mullet.
We will advise and assist you on every aspect of your fish purchase; information and choices for new or novice fish eaters, cooking and quantity suggestions and fulfilling bespoke orders. Our chef can even make a sauce accompaniment for your purchase, season, marinate or dress it for you to take home or cook it completely!
The Traiteur
Our Take-away food is hand-made on the premises using fresh, carefully sourced ingredients. Menu items include prime quality Fish & Chips, Monkfish & Prawn Curry, and our much-celebrated luxury jumbo Fishcakes. Available between 11am and 9pm, please download the take-away menu here.
The Restaurant
Sleek Italian seating, Esher-inspired wall art and over-sized ceiling pendants. The minimalist chic of our first floor Fish and Seafood restaurant's interior is in stark contrast to the cosy atmosphere and warm welcome you will always enjoy at Halibut.
Our menu is equally unfussy: Select from the freshest assortment of seafood on our wet fish counter and we will prepare and cook it to your specification, or choose from our 2 and 3 course fixed price menu.
Together with a carefully matched wine list from small and independent winegrowers, Halibut becomes a true gemstone in the crown of this charming and historic market town. Our specialty is of course fish and seafood but to ensure that all our guests are catered for, our menu includes some carefully considered meat and vegetarian options. |
